Team Polti VisitMalta races on Mercan’Tour Alpes Maritimes

On the rest day before the third week of the Giro d’Italia, the competitive activity does not stop for a Team Polti VisitMalta that will compete in the classic Mercan’Tour Alpes Miritimes in France.
A mountainous event, with the three demanding climbs of La Colmiane, La Couillole and the finish in Valberg, will provide 152 kilometres of racing for the most demanding climbers. It will also be an opportunity for those specialists in this terrain, who do not have so many opportunities to shine in the classics, to look for a victory.
Cyclists Diego Pablo Sevilla, Davide De Cassan and climbers Fernando Tercero, Álex Martín and Germán Gómez, with young riders Pablo García and Ludovico Crescioli completing the line-up, have been called up to compete in this Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes Maritimes.
Precisely Crescioli analyses this race after his results in Hungary: ‘It is the first time that I face this race, which is really hard with the climbs that they will select. I’m satisfied with the performance in Hungary, with a good feeling, and I really believe that I can be a protagonist in this race’.
Orlando Maini will be the sport director: “The Mercan’Tour is demanding from the first to the last metre. The distance may not be extreme, but the total elevation gain is significant, forcing you to stay fully focused at all times. We’re heading into this race with a group of young climbers, guided by the expert eye of Sevilla, who are fully aware of their potential to make a result.”
