Nacho Sánchez
Junior
The rider from Madrid renews his contract with the team after a very complicated first season, marked by a heart problem detected during the medical examination in January. He underwent a catheterisation and was unable to race until the summer, although he did manage to compete in races in the Spanish Cup and an international event such as the Vuelta a la Ribera del Duero. Nacho (he prefers to be called that rather than Ignacio) lives in the historic Alcalá de Henares. He has a twin brother, Sergio, very similar, and an older sister. Sergio will compete in his first year as a junior in the UC San Sebastián de los Reyes. ‘I started cycling thanks to my father, we used to go out on weekends with the mountain bike. I had a really good time, I liked it a lot. One day when we were talking about joining an athletics school, because I really like running, or trying another sport, we came across the Rodríguez Magro Cycling School. As cycling was a lot of fun, we went there. And we still do today’. As for other hobbies, Nacho likes hiking and other sports. ‘Occasionally he’ll play a game of football with his friends, of course. And in my free time, the truth is that what I like most is spending time with my loved ones, with my friends, whether it’s going out for dinner somewhere or just having a good time with them’.
