Jaume Barceló

From the age of 8, Jaume started mountain biking with his local cycling club, Pedal Bunyola. In 2022, being in the cadet category, he signed up for the Viana MTB Team to compete in mountain biking at national level and began to get results outside the Balearic Islands, highlighting the second position in the overall standings of the Shimano Supercup Massi, an internationally recognized event. Thanks to these results, in the following season he became part of the Cycling Technification Programme of the Sports Technification Centre of the Balearic Islands (CTEIB). He has always received great support from his family and girlfriend to fight for the great dream of being a cyclist. The 2024 season was marked by a fall in competition that made it impossible for him to participate in the rest of the races of this modality. For this reason, he decided to try out road cycling with the Saxun cycling team. In his fifth competition as part of this team, he won a stage victory in the Challenge Ciclista Subbética, which opened the door for him to take an important step in his sporting career with Team Polti Kometa. Jaume studies at the Balearic Islands Sports Technification Centre (CTEIB). He is a big and very tall cyclist, with 1’87m, who has Wout Van Aert as his idol. He does not like fish at all, and he has a Golden Retriever as a mascot, a dog called Burot (unruly, in Mallorcan).
