Team Polti VisitMalta is part of the Fundación Contador and includes the Professional and Junior teams. This is a story that began over 10 years ago, driven by the former champions Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso, together with Fran Contador. Some of today’s top riders have been through its ranks, in a development structure that has maintained its original values even after stepping up to the professional category in 2021, thanks to the support of Eolo and Kometa. Two stage wins at the Giro d’Italia, a strong team image, and steady growth convinced the historic company Polti to join our family in 2024, with the ambition to continue growing and evolving in the world of cycling.

Always with the aim of shaping people on a human level and developing talent on a sporting level, and with the ambition of continuing to grow towards the highest category, the World Tour, Team Polti VisitMalta has already participated in four editions of the Giro d’Italia and raised its arms in victory twice in the “Corsa Rosa” thanks to Lorenzo Fortunato and Davide Bais. The climber Fortunato triumphed on Monte Zoncolan in 2021, an achievement that will be remembered forever, while Bais won at Campo Imperatore in 2023, showcasing his strength in the final stretch of the climb.

Under the leadership of Basso and the Contador brothers, eager to give back to cycling at least a portion of what the sport has given to them, the team has earned the respect of its competitors both on and off the road, the admiration of fans, and the interest of new riders and sponsors who appreciate the opportunity to join a project that is both sporting and human.

Through the social projects of the Fundación, such as Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA or Idemticos, as well as the promotion of the Junior team and the cycling school at Plaza Éboli in Pinto (Madrid), Polti VisitMalta grows daily with great professionals, ambitious goals and the passion of a project that loves cycling.
