Two races in Cantabria for Team Polti VisitMalta U19

The Gran Premio El Baruco and the Memorial Chele Campos will be this weekend the two races that the junior team of the Alberto Contador Foundation will compete in. With very similar routes, both races will allow riders who are in a great moment of form to show off.
Cantabria hosts a double junior cycling event with the Gran Premio El Baruco in Igollo on Saturday, with 97 kilometres, and the Memorial Chele Campos in Caicedo with 99 kilometres. In both events, three climbs to the Alto del Churi will mark the outcome of the race, although on opposite sides on each day. The race will be streamed on Sportpublic TV.
Jaume Barceló heads the group of riders for this two-legged race and faces a course that is very well suited to his characteristics. He will be joined by sprinter Fran Moscoso, Adrián Martínez, Jorge Torrijos, Javier Muñoz, Italian Matteo Compagnoni and Anxo Delgado.
Isaac Cantón, sports director: ‘We are going for another intense weekend with two beautiful races at the highest level in which it is always motivating to return to the place where we won two years ago. They are days with no rest because of the route and if we have bad weather they will be very tough. We will try to be in the fight and raise our arms’.
