Double podium for Polti VisitMalta in the Trofeo Víctor Cabedo time trial

Ricardo Giner and Óscar Orts came close to victory in the Les Alqueries time trial, the second round of the Trofe Víctor Cabedo. Just 6 seconds separated them from the victory in a weekend where they won the prize as the best team in the overall.

Two days of mixed results for Team Polti VisitMalta. In the opening race of the Trofeo Víctor Cabedo in Càlig, the team rode with ambition and presence in the cuts, fighting the intermediate sprints with Aitor Martínez, Iván Estévez and Jaume Barceló. However, at the decisive moment of the race, they could not be in the group that fought for the victory and Aitor Martínez was the best classified, 8th at the finish line.

With the clear objective of improving that result, the time trial in Les Alqueries was ridden with total concentration. Jaume Barceló set a good time, close to the best, but Óscar Orts got the best virtual time. Only Ricardo Giner managed to improve it by 3 seconds, while finally Eric Igual (Picusa) took the victory.

Double podium, second and third in the race; 5th overall in the Trofeo Víctor Cabedo for Ricardo Giner and best team overall in the competition. A good result for Team Polti VisitMalta, which will face the last two races in Onda and Segorbe at the end of this month, with a previous stop next weekend in Montemayor for the second round of the Copa de España.
