Mattia Bais

Born in Rovereto on October 19, 1996, in his youth career, Mattia Bais almost always raced for the same teams as his brother, with whom he shares a passion for cycling and the mountains, and with whom he rejoined in 2023 in the ProTeam of the Fundación Contador. His first pedal strokes were with the Mori Youth squad, then with Forti e Veloci and Montecorona. In 2015, he made the jump to Under 23 with Event Soullimit before moving to Cycling Team Friuli. In 2020 he turned professional with Androni, where he honed his skills in long-distance breakaways, which three years later he would bring to what is now Polti Visit Malta. A true attacker, always capable of sensing when the day’s action is about to form, and equally ready when it comes to helping a teammate, he spent 2023 with the wind in his face, never shying away, and in 2024, in the revived Giro della Romagna, his resilience as a rouleur was rewarded with his first career podium. And when he’s not on the bike? “Like Davide, I love the mountains: when we’re not cycling, we like to work on finishing a little house around here in a beautiful spot in Trentino.”
